Les Logis de Lestiac

The House

A house of stone, history and hospitality

Les Logis de Lestiac keeps the soul of a Gironde home: a family house, tree-filled grounds and rooms with character. Charm of the village and not the leasts, the church and the soft sound of its bell every hour from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Our hens, experimentation with a Montessori education on gallinaceans : they are free like the air ! And our lovely dog, Whopper, very affectionate, especially with children.

A short history

An old Gironde house in the heart of the village

The house has passed through the centuries without losing its domestic character: old architecture, successive lives and hospitality now turned towards travellers.

An eighteenth-century Gironde house with outbuildings, a wine storehouse and a former bread oven.

The main gate bears the initials of painter Joseph Antoine Batanchon, founder of the Bordeaux academy of painting in 1768.

Wine merchant Calvet de Lestapis, linked to Château Tauzia in Gradignan, lived at Les Logis at the end of the nineteenth century.

The present dining room once served as a public tax office, a discreet trace of a house rooted in local life.
